Through a guided walk among plants and trees from around the world, guests discover the richness of global biodiversity and explore how plants shaped gastronomy, culture and philosophy of the Cretan diet. As they walk the path, it becomes a sensory journey. Here, where Mediterranean, tropical and alpine climates meet, the garden reminds them that we are all connected to the land and to our future.
In addition, they explore the key elements of the traditional Cretan dietary model: extra virgin olive oil, plant-based food, seasonal ingredients, intuitive cooking and wine as a part of social life.
The experience includes tasting of authentic local products and a shared cooking workshop based on the Cretan diet, where guests connect ingredients, flavour, and seasonality with the wider ecosystem of the Botanical Garden of Crete.
