These are insects are of the arthropod group. There are over 100,000 species of their kind all over the world.
The shady trees, the water, the colourful flora , and the organic cultivation of the garden attract numerous butterflies- endemic or not- which are free to fly all over the garden creating an enchanting romantic sight with their colours and beauty.
There is a legend explaining the beauty of the butterfly. According to the legend , the Creator felt sorry for children, when he realized that their destiny on this earth was to grow old and eventually die. What he did then was gather all the beautiful colours from various sources e.g. the sunlight, the animals, the leaves, the flowers and the sky. He then placed all these colours in a little magic sack and showed it to the children.
When they opened the sack , the colourful butterflies escaped and started flying around leaving the children speechless since this was the most beautiful sight they had ever seen. The butterflies also sang , making the children even happier. The birds , however, complained that the butterflies were not only exceptionally beautiful, they could also sing beautifully. The wise Creator took away the gift of singing from the butterflies. Ever since, they remain a pretty, but silent, sight.
